Lynne's Project- Island

Chapter 1. The Shipwreck

I looked around. There was only me. Why did the ship have to sink today? Why can’t it sink tomorrow? Why did it have to sink with my family and friends? Ten years old Destiny burst into tears while thinking never ending questions in her mind.

The questions just kept rolling in her mind, like the roller coaster at Disney Land, except it never stopped to an end. It was not supposed to be like this. Now, what am I supposed to do? Destiny said aloud hoping someone would answer her out the only thing that answered her was the echo of her voice.

She had nothing with her but the tool belt her dad had given to her for her sixth birthday. “I ‘m doomed”, Destiny moaned.

Lynne's Project- Lost Colony

Some colonist traveled to Roanoke Island. They built little forts to live in. When the winter was about to come John White traveled to England to get food.

When he got back to England they were at war with the Spain. John White could not go back to Roanoke Island until after three years. When John White got back to Roanoke everybody was gone!

John White had said if there was trouble to leave a sign. The only thing that was left was a log with the word Croatoan on it. I think some of them died because of the drought.
